My week, in review. This is a short and sweet weekly update with ratings and blurb. If they are getting their own review, I’ll share it there!
EIGHT Books this week (more like 7.75)…three physical, one audio, four e-books and two of those ARCs. I have so many good books in my TBR it’s a little overwhelming but also so excited to read them all!
Physical Books
Cool for the Summer by Dahlia Adler – 4/5 Review went up yesterday, I really enjoyed this one!
Happy Endings by Thien-Kim Lam – 3/5 I finished this one last night, I’m kinda mixed about this one and not sure if I’ll be writing a review… A little too much misogyny with a side of male guilt and I have to save everyone complex.
The Guncle by Steven Rowley – 4.5/5 This is why I’m a 7.75 this week because I’m only 75% finished…but gah, I love this book so much. It’s delightful and funny and overall warms my heart.
E-Books
Sweet Filthy Boy (Wild Series 1) by Christina Lauren – 4/5 Married in Vegas to a stranger then you move to Paris to stay married to said stranger for an epic love affair. I really enjoyed it, much steamier than their standalones, be fair warned!
Mr. Masters by T.L. Swan – 4/5 If you saw my stories, I was influenced to read this one by my friend Liz @nachoaveragebooklover . Follow her if you want great romance recs! I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would, it’s a series I’m now adding to my TBR.
ARCs
Thanks to @netgalley and respective publishers (@atriabooks and @avonbooks ) for providing these e-arcs in exchange for my honest opinion.
The Charm Offensive by Alison Cochrun – 5/5 This book is amazing and you can see my full gushing a few posts ago! Full review closer to pub date (9/7).
Duke, Actually by Jenny Holiday – 4/5 Please enjoy a literal Hallmark movie in book format with some steam. Full review closer to pub date (10/26).
Audio
Open Book by Jessica Simpson – 5/5 I feel weird rating someone’s life story but this really was excellent on audio. I didn’t know much about Jessica Simpson and I now have a greater appreciation for her career and life.
See you next week!
Love,
A
