Week in Review: 6.29-7.5

My week, in review. This is a short and sweet weekly update with ratings and blurb. If they are getting their own review, I’ll share it there!

EIGHT Books this week…and I 100% plan on reading all day today with my day off.

Most of this weekend was me falling down the rabbit hole of CLo’s Wild Series, it was wild and I was here for it! It was an adventure to get these books at a library. But as a Christina Lauren stan and I must read the whole backlist!

Physical Books

The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon – 3.5/5 I recently received the ARC for the Dating Playbook so I had to read the first in the series. Love some ladies in STEM and gave me some major JTMD Vibes.

Dirty Rowdy Thing + Dark Wild Night + Wicked Sexy Lair by Christina Lauren – 4/5 I read book one a few weeks ago and knew I wanted to read this series. It centers around a friend group who got drunkenly married in Vegas. Each book has a different trope, 3.5-4 on the steam scale so be prepared for (a lot) more than your average CLo standalone book.

Neon Gods by Katee Robert – 4.5/5 This book was really hyped in the book community and I was nervous to read it because of how it was presented + the Greek mythology angle but I ended up LOVING it! The mythology is light and felt like a combination between Fifty Shades of Grey and the Bareknuckle Bastards series. Yes, it was very steamy, but I don’t think it is as much as people say…or maybe my tolerance scale is super high.

E-Books

Don’t Kiss The Bride by Carian Cole – 3.75/5 I’ve been on the hunt for more marriage of convenience books, and stumbled upon this one while diving into Cole’s backlist. It does have an age gape but I wasn’t cringing as much as I have with others.

ARCs

Thanks to @netgalley@readforeverpub and @grandcentralpub for providing this e-arc in exchange for my honest opinion.

How Sweet It Is by Dylan Newton – 3/5 I have mixed thoughts on this one, I loved the concept but it did fall flat in some areas for me. Full review coming this week!

Audio

Live Your Life by Amanda Kloots – 5/5 I feel weird rating someone’s life story but this really was excellent on audio. This truly is a heartbreaking story, and I am in all of Amanda strength and courage during this journey.

See you next week!

Love,

A
